Brendan Lesavage is an award-winning violinist from Scranton, Pennsylvania, celebrated for seamlessly blending classical artistry with the vibrant energy of popular music. As a sought-after performer, educator, and collaborator, Mr. Lesavage has built a dynamic and versatile career spanning a wide range of musical genres, captivating audiences with both technical excellence and expressive musicianship.
Currently, Mr. Lesavage plays fiddle for The Jase Mathews Band, an original country band from Northeastern Pennsylvania. With the band, he has appeared on concert bills featuring Lakeview, Jimmie Allen, Maddie & Tae, Ray Fulcher, and Ten02, bringing his distinctive blend of traditional fiddle playing and contemporary country musicianship to audiences across the region.
Mr. Lesavage also performs with The Sciatic Nerves, a bluegrass ensemble, and The Downpatrick Band, one of Northeastern Pennsylvania's premier Celtic bands, further demonstrating the breadth of his musical versatility.
In addition, Mr. Lesavage has appeared as a guest performer with Uncaged, the nationally acclaimed tribute to the Zac Brown Band. Beyond these projects, he has collaborated with a variety of artists and ensembles throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, including Gracie Jane Sinclair & The Band, The New Black Sage Project, The Blarney Boys, and Boots and Bangs.
With an extensive background in classical music, Brendan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. His artistic development has been shaped through study, coaching, and mentorship with distinguished violinists and pedagogues, including Fritz Valenches, a student of Ivan Galamian; Dr. Peter Isaacson; Luis Arellano of the Mexico City Philharmonic; and Byron Duckwall, a student of George Neikrug.
In 2019, Mr. Lesavage performed with the Kutztown Chamber Players in a concert featuring original music by Greek-American composer Dinos Constantinides at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, presented by DCINY. The ensemble provided orchestral accompaniment for distinguished soloists Kurt Nikkanen and Maria Asteriadou. Mr. Lesavage also participated in the recording of Constantinides' works for violin, released by Centaur Records in 2024 as Works for Violin by Dinos Constantinides.
Today, Brendan performs regularly as a soloist in classical recitals with his duo partner, pianist Thomas Skoronski. In addition to his recital work, he frequently appears with a variety of chamber ensembles, orchestras, and collaborative artists throughout the region.
Beyond the concert stage, Mr. Lesavage is the founder and director of BBL Music Co., a premier entertainment company serving Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. Through the company, he performs regularly for luxury weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events. Since its founding, BBL Music Co. has produced hundreds of successful events and has earned numerous industry accolades for excellence in live entertainment.
With a deep passion for violin pedagogy, Mr. Lesavage maintains a thriving private violin studio, where his teaching is rooted in the Dounis Method, emphasizing natural movement and instinctive coordination to cultivate beautiful tone, technical freedom, and expressive musicianship. He is also the author of instructional publications for string musicians, including Lesavage: Elementary Scale System (2024), reflecting his ongoing commitment to advancing string pedagogy through practical and innovative educational resources.
